Art director for Asabaako Music Festival poster designs
2016 - 2018
Asabaako is a non-for-profit annual African music and creative arts festival on the sunny Busua Beach, in Ghana's Western Region on its journey to bring the world to Africa and Africa to the world. Based on the theme of “togetherness - bringing everyone together into one uplifting dance” I with a designer to create a festival poster that represents a modern, Afropolitan Ghana, Afrofuturism and celebration and can be adapted for social media platforms, website and newsletters.
-
We were to include design elements of that really sum up the festival:-
-
People - Cool, fashionable Africans/black people/musicians
-
Music – sound systems, electric guitars, drums, musicians, DJs, vinyl records/sleeves
-
Jungle/tropical flora
-
Tropical – Beach, sun, palm trees, sea, fishing boats, marine life, coral
-
Surfing – boards, surfers (African/black), waves
-
Ghana/Africa – Ghana flag (black stars, red, green, gold), Africa map
